Navigating the Online Training Experience: How Actall Is Transforming Training Procedures for Client Success

By Kyle Freeman

At Actall, we’ve always prided ourselves on putting clients’ needs first. That’s part of the reason many of our clients and partners have been with us for decades—in addition to our cutting-edge RTLS capabilities, we go to great lengths to ensure clients are empowered and supported from design to installation to system upgrade.

While we’ve historically handled training procedures for clients, installers, designers and more in person, the pandemic put a screeching halt to that. In 2020, we began conducting training via Zoom, which then led to the question: Why not take it one step further and create an asynchronous, standardized training system for our network of partners and clients?

Today, I’m proud to introduce Actall’s new online training experience. I’ll walk through some of the basics of the new system, including rollout and what to expect. Let’s dive in.

Our New Online Training Experience: An Overview

We’ve broken up training into separate “paths” depending on who the training sequence is for. Each category of the Actall partner and client network—installers, end users, dealers, designers, integrators—will have a specific training program custom-built for their needs.

As an example, once a client signs a contract, their RTLS needs to be installed by an installation team within our partner network. That installation team will receive a link to our training platform, which is run through TalentLMS. From there, the team will receive a comprehensive training that answers every relevant question about the system’s inner workings before diving into a piece-by-piece installation guide for the product.

The result is a simple, repeatable, easy-to-access training platform that installers can watch on their own time and return to for any reason.

End-users—the clients themselves, typically—have their own always-available training module. Theirs is primarily focused on how to use Actall’s RTLS system, which includes testing transmitters and alarms to ensure proper function. While Actall is known primarily for our duress alarm capabilities, our RTLS offers a host of functionalities that can help with efficiency, staffing, safety and more. All of that material will be available for end-users to engage with on their own time.

Trainings are broken into short video modules of just a few minutes each with a test for comprehension at the end of each one. There is no limit to the number of times that a module can be repeated, and they can be accessed in any order.

Training for All

This new training procedure is not limited to new clients, partners or integrators. Our existing clients and network are welcome to use the course to refresh their knowledge, get up to speed on a new product feature or train new employees without the additional burden of providing hands-on, individualized training.

Rest assured: Our team is still here to provide 24/7 support and answer any questions. But with this new training platform, all material will be available whenever and wherever—ensuring a consistent, accurate, easily repeatable training experience for all.
